Personal project
Mooplane
I've been modeling in Cinema 4D for a long time. But all my 3d-peers started to move on blender. Because it is free, stable enough, and easily exports to Unity. So I set a goal to learn blender in 2 months as well.
Blender has a notable difference from Cinema 4d: mesh-grid as base. It means that if you are adding any geometry like sphere or cube, they become meshes. You will have no chance to edit primitive's parameters anymore. Knowing this, I started to practice in low-poly modelling and learn the interface and tools.

I started experiment with forms and modifiers. My next evolution was using more words tricks to do less things manually. It brought a huge benefit for me – speed.

Another step was introduction with materials. Blender has nodes structure for more complex materials.

Finaly, I made a high-poly project. As for challenges there were 4 things:
Feel like a Pro
What render settings should I use and why?
How to create high poly with maps (references)?
What hotkeys can be useful for me?
Materials and light: how to create materials with layers?

I have learned how to model high-poly tech and carton heroes. There are no frustrating gaps about the light and render engines anymore. And I have created detailed materials. Even milk foam :)
